Ofosua Daaku Ammah: Creating Safe Spaces Through Closed Corporate Chats

The Essentials

Who are you, and what do you host on Gaderin?
Hi! I'm Ofosua Daaku Ammah. I support Ghanaian corporate managers, who struggle with workplace toxicity, to build the resilience and courage they need to enjoy the peace of mind that helps them be happier and more productive at work.

On Gaderin, I host private, intimate conversations with professionals that help them open up honestly in a safe space, listen and learn from others, and gain clarity on the prevailing topic for the month’s event. It’s held every 3rd and 4th Saturday of the month, hosting fewer than 10 professionals at a time. We're covered by confidentiality agreements because we take the privacy of our events seriously. From first-time corporates to board members, we’ve created a space where honesty and empathy thrive and strong networks are built.

Give us the backstory. How did this all begin?
It all began when I organised a focus group discussion with some friends and strangers to understand how I could best help my clients. The magic happened when, at the end, I asked what they’d find most helpful, and there was a resounding vote for conversations like these. This Closed Corporate Chat was born from that focus group and I’m really happy I get to do this, creating spaces where professionals can share ideas, experiences, and learn from one another in an honest, private way.

What’s the experience really like — beyond the promo caption?

I think the experience is almost unimaginable if you have not experienced such a conversation before, especially with strangers. It's eye-opening. It's enlightening. It's encouraging. It's heartwarming and challenges how you think and how you feel. This Closed Corporate Chat allows you to realise that there are a lot more humans like you, and your struggles, pain and victories are easily relatable to other people in the room. Beyond the promo caption, it's an authentic experience that leaves you lighter than you came and clearer on what you want in life. Some people call it group therapy; I call it being honest and feeling safe to have a conversation that really needs to be had but most of the time you don't have the opportunity to have. Come, join us. I look forward to seeing you.

Style, Vibes & Rituals

Walk us through a hosting day — what’s your routine?

  • Have a lazy morning and a good breakfast.
  • Review my questions.
  • Get ready to leave for the venue.

What do you wear when you host?
Comfort is my first style choice. I lean toward smart casual, not because it’s required, but because it’s how I like to show up.

What music sets the tone for your sessions?
We’re not fussy. Depending on the venue, sometimes none at all, or simply whatever’s playing.

Signature scent, drink, or pre-hosting ritual?
Fragrances that come in blue or green are my go-to. A prayer is always key. Because I never fully know who shows up, what state they’ll be in, or how our interactions will unfold, knowing I’ve handed everything to God is reassuring.

Mind Behind the Moment

What inspired this experience — and what do you want people to feel?
I’ve personally benefitted from safe spaces in my corporate career. Having had both toxic and supportive bosses, I know how isolating it can feel when things get tough, and you don’t have trustworthy people to talk to. This Closed Corporate Chat was designed to provide confidentiality and honesty, so people can speak freely and learn from shared experiences. The goal is for each of us to walk away lighter, clearer, and equipped with tried-and-tested solutions.

What’s the most unexpected thing a guest has ever done?
Giving up their tickets for others to use in their stead. That was validation on a whole new level for me.

How do you keep things fresh every time?
We never have the same group twice, never the same industries represented, and never only corporate employees. We’re like a bag of Skittles—same weight, different colours every time.

Off-Duty

What’s your idea of the perfect Saturday in Accra?
Honestly, if I'm not working on a Saturday, then it's a lazy day at home or a meal with a close friend or complete stranger.

What local spot do you swear by that’s still under the radar?

Currently, that Local Vibes, East Legon. You should try their Kelewele. Zenos Yoghurt also makes top of my list on many days. It's always their large parfait for me.

What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
I can’t sing, clap, and dance at the same time. I love all three, but one will always grind to a halt. Two? I can manage. Three? Not happening!

Big Picture

What does “gathering differently” mean to you?
Gathering in unique and uncommon ways whether in why we gather, how we gather, or even when we gather enjoy each other’s company.

In a sentence, why should someone book your experience?
Because guests of This Closed Corporate Chat leave lighter, clearer, and with tried-and-tested tools (and not a ChatGPT list of maybe this could work) that address real workplace pain points... so you can be happier and more productive at work.

Hosting in one word?
Fulfilment.
